The Goverment is aiming to censor teh Internetz over here by banning sites that contain nasty things like drug use, sex, and the more realistic nasty shit like beastiality and kiddie porn.
What. The. Fuck.
Why the fuck are you big brother-ing the internet for Australia, Krudd!? Why must you censor practically the whole Internet with the justification to protect innocent eyes and a 'caring society'?
It is not going to work. I don't know how an INDEPEDENT BODY can screen websites and tell Optus to block X sites.
Does this mean that IJ will be blocked because, gasp, sex and other.. things are on it?

General browsing yesterday dug up on set pics of what the Dawn Treader looks like for the third Narnia movie. The helmet is a nice touch, but I agree with the other comments, it does look a bit 'plastic'. And big in comparison to the rest of the boat.
Still not touching the movie with a 10ft pole. The first was the opposite of pure magic, and rushed to hell and back. The second.. I could only stand half an hour or so of it before I had to turn it off. I grew up watching the BBC Narnia series, and wish that the for-today's-st00pid-generation!retelling of Narnia would take itself more seriously, among other things. You know. Actually have a plot instead of being another cash cow/advertising thing for CGI. That, and the fact that Narnia is just Christianity.
Last night I finished off the Nolanverse Gotham City map, and what happens? :D The lovely person who uploaded Nolan's Gotham map on a map site (can't remember if it was Google Maps or another site like it) took it down. The link only took me to an empty.. box.
It didn't matter in the slightest, however. I finished the map, I just had to fix the edges where the map turned into blackness. :D :D :D Gloat, gloat. The map is 150MB when the two halves are put together, but only 39MB when flattened with Photoshop. I have no idea how to share it with Chaos and Lethe. I don't want to upload it to MegaUpload/Share/whateveritsbloodycalled. =/
Icon'd and finished my Joker's layout today. I fixed the TINY error that was bothering me. Still got Arkham and Bingo to go =D |

Roz's mother told her over the phone tonight that they have his personal effects in her grandmother's loft, on the Isle of Wright. That's a long way away from Germany, from Australia, a million miles from the Second World War. How her family came into possession of them, we don't know, but we're going to return them.
It's a very strange thing to think about. Especially at Christmas, when the Great Escape is traditionally aired. Where his family are, I don't know. How long it will take to find them and give them these things, I don't know.

![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) chazpure had a 24 hour bug last weekend that in me, with my compromised immune system, turned into two days of miserable fever, wracking joint pain/muscle weakness and near-constant sleep, followed by two more days of slow recovery. The weather seemed to be in sympathy with me, as it's been beautifully gloomy, cloud-shrouded w/rain, rain, rain with a real pisser of a storm hitting last night.
I finally felt well enough to be up and about Friday. Just in time for chazpure's holiday office party yesterday. Craziness. Plus a gluten incident, fortunately kept down to a few hours of severe unpleasantness due to my caution, but bleah. :( That's been my first one in ages, and we were both pleased to note my overall improvements, health-wise, made the exposure not as horrible as it might have once been.
I know some might think I have no health improvement, but I really do. It's just I've gone from being severely-immune compromised to having a weak immune function. The ticket is that it's gone from being basically non-functioning to starting to do it's job, just not quite so robustly or rapidly as a healthy person's. This latest bug is a good example. Used to be chazpure would bring home a 24 hour bug from work, which I would catch as surely as Harry gets the snitch, and it would make me ill for a week, and would allow in further opportunistic infections and before long I'd have been sick for two months. Now, her 24 hour bug took me about 3 days to get over the worst and two more days to fully recover. Let's hope the improvements continue!
Of course, with all this, it means poor chazpure has been handling ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) snapelyholidays and quite well, I might add, considering her horrendously busy schedule and overlong workdays. I probably don't say it as often as I should, but Chaz is a treasure.

Other news: cyclone Laurence went :D It's over in WA now, haha. It went from a low to a category 3 down to a 2 and now it's a 1 in WA.
If it ever came back and the power went so I'm not around to update anybody, you can just check the status by going to www.bom.gov.au, click NT and then on the Cyclone/Tropical Low track forecast map for the NT. I'm not worried at this stage, though. It's busy in WA =P
Fucking huge storm yesterday, though. We could've gone without that one D= The rainfall level was 79MM EDIT: it's been updated to 250mm. Holy shit. Cars were stalling on the roads because the water was so high, the racetrack was a LAKE, trees and power lines were knocked over. Blargh.
At the moment it's only spitting lightly. Watched 28 Days Later again because it's a good rainy day movie <3

I would love to get some animations from this video, if I could. I'm looking for something about the size of the gif on angiegirl but I'd be okay with it being a little larger.

I know this is quite possibly a far fetched request, but after watching Saturday Night Live with Blake Lively hosting, there is a certain skit where she does what they call the “booty dance”. I would love to get an animation of just that crazy little dance move she does, if it is at all possible, pretty please? I will try and find a video clip of it, but I have yet to find one. If I do I will be sure to edit this post and include it.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone is here anymore. Seems like all my list went over to the shiny services or back to LJ. So, it is cold and lonely.
I have one requirement for friending: you must be okay with mental issues (specifically DID) and homosexuality.
Other than that...a little about:
Currently a senior in university pursuing a dual degree set in anthropology and history with a minor in international studies. Plan on studying abroad in Japan as that is the primary region of study (that, and China). Learning to read Japanese a little better...kanji is a bitch, but necessary.
Pretty eclectic with musical tastes and books.
Like movies (except major romancey things and gorefest - unless it's zombies. Heck, I could do a zombie romance with a little gorefest for their first date - they are zombies for crying out loud! Someone should totally screenplay that and pitch the idea). Pretty much a Netflix junkie.
Also enjoy television programs like Mythbusters, Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth, Dirty Jobs, random history programs, Doctor Who, Robot Chicken and Family Guy.
Things in the journal include random silliness, talk about life and school, things that are found shiny!!1!!1!, very random music and video, an occasional meme. Right now it is "OMG desktop computer died!111!1!"
If you twitter update or are a drama llama/wank addict, don't add this journal...it's annoying, really.
Is there anyone out there? Really? I would welcome zombies...as long as they don't mess the carpet. |

Played Creed II throughout the weekend, and planning another marathon this arvo and tonight with Kef. Game = win. The voice acting is hilarious, though. Bad/funny Italian accents =P
Busy today scanning The Bouncer: Visual Arts Collection, and The Bouncer: Beginner's Guide books. Kef can start translating IX tomorrow morning, when I start scanning that at home with my scansna[ :D
iTuned yesterday since it's been a new month for a while. Pft to bandwidth =/
Dragon Age taunts me so. I've hidden it away as of this morning. >| Argh,
